“This was our third scooter tour, the first two in Strasburg and this time in Bird-in-Hand…The scenery is breathtaking, the tour stops friendly, educational, and so much fun! And, we had some really cool surprises included as well,” said Irene on her TripAdvisor review. Bird-in-Hand, PA is our newest location and features the exclusive Country Roads Excursion tour. Our scooters and coupes are easy to drive (even with no experience).
Enjoy s 5-star Lancaster County tour experience with Strasburg Scooters. You’ll see rolling farmlands, pass by horse and buggies, and enjoy some of the best Ice Cream in Lancaster County. It’s a stark contrast to the usual fast-paced and congested areas of larger cities. For those craving something different, or one of the best romantic weekend date night ideas, we’ll hold each Ice Cream Tour tour on Saturday evenings.
The village of Bird-in-Hand is a classic Amish Country destination. The town is surrounded by working Amish farms, some of which help supply local eateries, such as the Bird-in-Hand Restaurant & Smorgasbord with farm-fresh produce and meats. This town is rich with PA Dutch heritage from quilt making to whoopie pies, and if you’re looking for an Amish adventure–look no further.
Bird-in-Hand is home to many great lodging options including the resort-style Bird-in-Hand Family Inn or the beautiful Village Inn & Suites. But, just like our Strasburg location, it’s located to some of Lancaster most popular tourist destinations such as the Sight & Sound Theatre, Dutch Wonderland Amusement Park, the popular American Music Theater, and The Lancaster Host Resort & Conference Center, and much more!

Motorcycle license: No motorcycle license is needed unless you are riding with a passenger.
Due to insurance restrictions and state law guests must have a valid motorcycle endorsement in order to ride on our two-wheel scooters with a passenger
Regular driver’s license: A regular driver’s license is needed (passengers don’t need one) and it doesn’t need to be a PA-issued driver’s license. You will need to present your driver’s license at the time of the tour. If you don’t have your driver’s license, you will not be able to drive a scooter, but if you forget it, keep in mind that you may be able to ride as a passenger with someone else in your group, based on availability and may require additional fee (ex. if upgrading to the 3-wheel Scoot Coupe).
Passengers: Passengers in the double-seat scoot coupes or on the double-seat 2-wheel scooters do not need a license.
Note: No Exceptions!
We offer both 2-wheel motorized scooters and 3-wheel “scoot coupes” (no balancing ability is required and they fit two people). Riding a 2-wheel scooter is very similar to riding a bicycle. We will provide every operator with training prior to the tour. We focus on balance, throttle, and brakes. You don’t have to have ever been on a scooter before. You will be required to sign a release after training stating that you have been trained and are confident in your ability to operate the scooter. If we do not feel comfortable with your ability to safely operate a scooter, we will not take you on the tour (unless you’re a passenger with someone else). We also offer 3-wheel Scoot Coupes which require no balancing ability to operate. Riders not able to operate a two wheel scooter may upgrade to a 3-wheel Scoot Coupe, for an additional fee, based on availability. See scooter options here.
