Motorcycle license: No motorcycle license is needed unless you are riding with a passenger.
Due to insurance restrictions and state law guests must have a valid motorcycle endorsement in order to ride on our two-wheel scooters with a passenger
Regular driver’s license: If you’re driving a scooter, a regular driver’s license is needed (passengers don’t need one). You will need to present your driver’s license at the time of the tour. If you do not have your driver’s license, you will not be able to drive a scooter. If you forget your license, you may be able to ride as a passenger with someone else in your group, based on availability and it may be an additional fee (ex. if upgrading to the 3-wheel Scoot Coupe).
Passengers: Passengers in the double-seat scoot coupes (3-wheel scooters) or on the double-seat 2-wheel scooters do not need a license.
Note: Sorry… no exceptions.
Prior to the tour, we provide every operator with training (ex. balance, throttle, brakes). You don’t have to have ever driven (or even ridden) on a scooter before. Riding a 2-wheel scooter is very similar to riding a bicycle. If you’re not comfortable with the idea of a 2-wheel motorized scooter, no problem! Just choose the 3-wheel “scoot coupe”. The scoot coupe doesn’t require balancing and it sits 2 people. Note that after the training session, you will be required to sign a release stating that you have been trained and are confident in your ability to operate the scooter. If we do not feel comfortable with your ability to safely operate a scooter, we will not take you on the tour (unless you’re a passenger with someone else). Riders not able to operate a 2-heel scooter may upgrade to a 3-wheel Scoot Coupe for an additional fee, based on availability. See scooter options here.
